 Artificial intelligence

The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.

Artificial intelligence uses machine learning to mimic human intelligence. The computer has to learn how to respond to certain actions, so it uses algorithms and historical data to create something called a propensity model.

In other words we can say, Artificial Intelligence is a technique which enables machines to mimic human behaviour.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence

Now a days AI is application is used in all the sectors. In our day to day life, we use AI and this will make our work easy and efficient. Machines that uses AI will think like humans and make decisions. Let’s take some examples of Artificial Intelligence and understand it in a more simple way.

1. Mobile Phones

In our latest smartphones we have different type of camera mode and now a days a new feature that is night mode that is based on AI and Face unlocking application is also based on AI.

2. Google Maps

Keeping maps updated in over 200 countries is hard—so the team had to pivot from just making maps to something more meta. “We needed to start making the machine that makes the map

The way this is happening is through machine learning algorithms that are good enough to take imagery—like the pictures produced by those street view cars, or from satellites—extract the information they need from them, and then update the map. That information is likely data such as the name of a road, a house number, or the shape of a building seen from above. Google has boasted about this topic before describes their efforts creating an algorithm that can read street names in France and mentions that algorithms like that could update addresses on the map.

How Goggle maps will show you the shortest path that is by using some machine learning algorithms that is eventually based on AI application

3. Uber

Uber uses AI for fraud detection, risk assessment, safety processes, marketing      spend and allocation, matching drivers and riders, route optimization, driver onboarding, and just about everywhere else it's possible to apply.

Whenever we book a ride it will show how much time it will take to reach and how much you have to pay is also calculated through ML algorithms. This is also an application of AI.

4. Music Recommendations

Music services use AI to track your listening habits. Then they use the information to suggest other songs you might like to hear.

Google Play also offers personalized music recommendations. Its AI-powered suggestions take into account factors like weather and time of day to offer music that can set the mood for activities. For example, you might be offered a playlist of dance music on a Friday night, or soft acoustic music on a rainy day.

5. Driverless Cars

Tesla’s AI is driven by Nvidia’s H/W focusing mainly on unsupervised learning.

Crowdsources data from all of its vehicles and its drivers – internal & external sensors.

6. Netflix Recommender System

How does Netflix generates a list of movies similar to your interest?

Basically it uses AI for this purpose.

7. Virtual Personal Assistants

applications of AI

  • Speech Recognition
  • Speech to Text Conversion
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Text to Speech Conversion

8. Facebook Auto friend tagging Suggestions

Facebook suggests you if you want to tag the person in the Snaps.

Uses  Facebook’s face detection and recognition algorithms

9. Facebook Smart Alt tag Generation
